We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Richard Palmer, an experienced land and energy professional, to the team. With the third new appointment in less than a year, we’ve also moved to new offices in Burford to accommodate our growing team.

Richard joins us as Senior Consultant. He will be providing commercial, industrial, farming and local authority clients advice on how they can reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint and increase revenues by combining a mix of energy generation, flexibility, and storage technologies behind their electricity meters. This will include integrating renewable and microgrid technologies, battery storage, demand response and electric vehicles into energy solutions.

Richard Palmer combines energy and land expertise

Richard has over 20 years energy industry experience initially holding senior commercial roles at National Power (now npower) involving energy trading, retail pricing and renewable generation. He completed a Masters in Real Estate at the University of Reading in 2007 and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor to bring his energy expertise to the rural land market. He worked in rural practice for ten years for international, national and regional firms including a role where he was Head of Energy and Rural Estate Business Management and more recently, he developed the energy services proposition at a leading national property consultancy.

Commenting on his new role Richard says, “The energy industry is moving incredibly fast, making it an exciting time to move to Roadnight Taylor. With our combined knowledge, we can remain at the forefront of these rapid industry changes. Crucially, Roadnight Taylor is independent and impartial. I’m looking forward to bringing my energy and land management expertise to the team, so we can implement innovation, change and a competitive edge for our clients.”

Continued top of the market advice and service

Our CEO Hugh Taylor says, “Roadnight Taylor began in 2014 as a grid consultancy offering advice to landowners looking to secure connections to the electrical grid to host large-scale power generation or battery storage schemes. But as the energy industry has transformed, so have we. It’s very exciting to have Richard on board. His breadth of knowledge and experience in the industry and his focussed, strategic approach will help us to continue to deliver the very best advice and service to our clients as the energy transition accelerates.”

Following the appointment of Richard plus a Senior Engineer and a Business Development Manager in the last nine months, we’ve moved to new offices in Priory Lane, Burford to accommodate the recent staff recruitment and support the company’s strategy to grow and diversify our service offerings.
