Connections reform on the route to Net Zero
Connections reform is now a critical issue on the route to Net Zero. The connection queue now stands at over 300GW and in May, 1GW of new capacity was applying to the queue every day.
Fortunately, a lot is being done to address this issue: Ofgem has published an open letter on Connections Reform and is reviewing CMP376, that will introduce queue management to connections, National Grid ESO has launched their consultation on this process. Meanwhile both the ESO and the Energy Networks Association (ENA) have published wider plans to accelerate connections.
What do all these developments mean, and what difference will they make and when? Join Renewable UK, Roadnight Taylor, NGESO, ENA and RWE to understand the implications of queue management and connections reform, and what developers need to be thinking about for their projects.
