How grid connection delays are threatening net-zero goals

The Institution of Engineering and Technology’s publication, the Engineering & Technology magazine, has reported on the delays that developers looking to connect renewable energy projects to the electricity grid are experiencing – up to 15 years in some cases. This is threatening the UK’s net-zero ambitions.

Conor McGlone, investigative journalist at the Engineering & Technology magazine, interviewed Pete Aston, along with developers and engineering firms, on how the delays are putting both climate targets and energy security at risk.
