Rachael Eynon joins the Roadnight Taylor team
We hire our seventh grid connections specialist
Rachael Eynon, former Senior Connections Design Lead at National Energy System Operator (NESO), has joined Roadnight Taylor as a Connectologist®, expanding the team of experienced grid connections specialists to seven.
With Connections Reform reshaping the queue and Gate 2 offers now delayed to mid-May, many organisations remain uncertain about where their projects stand. The arrival of Rachael means Roadnight Taylor is even better placed to support clients through what promises to be a complex period.
In Rachael’s words
Rachael comments: “Ever since I started working in the connections space from within NESO, Roadnight Taylor has been a leading voice in the community, providing expert insight into everything from technical topics to policy matters.
“Being surrounded by some of the best names in the industry, and being able to learn from them and provide influential contribution of my own, is so exciting.”
At NESO, Rachael authored the inaugural Connections Network Design Methodology, the foundational document setting out how the existing queue is reordered under Connections Reform, and led working groups with Transmission Owners on its implementation. Having completed IET’s Power Academy before joining National Grid’s graduate scheme, and going on to work at NESO (formerly National Grid Electricity System Operator (NGESO)) in outage planning and power system studies, Rachael has a decade of experience that started before she even graduated from university.

Rachael joins the specialist Connectologist team including Pete Aston (Member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Energy Studies), Catherine Cleary (Member of NESO’s Connections Process Advisory Group), Philip Bale (Member of the National Energy System Operator’s GSR029 working group), Kyle Murchie (Vice Chair of the RenewableUK Connections Working Group), and Nikki Pillinger (Co-chair of Regen’s Grid Connections Working Group), and Alex Ikonic (Code Modification Proposals 434 and 448).
Collectively, the team holds positions across nine further Code Modification Proposals, one DCUSA change, and a range of Ofgem, NESO, DNO, and industry working groups.
