Maximising chances of securing long-term lease income from large-scale energy schemes

Hugh was invited to speak on a Renewable Energy webinar hosted by Lodders on 18 August 2020. Over 100 delegates heard Hugh and Alastair Frew, Real Estate partner and member of their Real Estate and Renewables team, cover a range of renewable energy issues.  

With his compelling six “Hugh’s Truths”, Hugh lit a clear path to maximising your chances of achieving long-term, reliable leases from large-scale energy schemes. He pinpointed the mistakes most landowners make when seeking large-scale energy opportunities and highlighted the simple steps that will turn the tables in a landowner’s favour – and that put their legal and professional advisors in the strongest position to negotiate lease terms.           

The talk also provided insights and advice from Alastair on a range of renewable energy legal issues. This included the points to consider in heads of terms and the valuable ‘optional extras’ such as substation, battery storage, and gas reserve power stations.
