The challenge

  • Nationally, less than 15% of HV and EHV generation connection offers are accepted by developers; in part because:

  • The network expertise necessary to consistently achieve high connection application success rates is vanishingly rare; and

  • A significant proportion of failed applications are as a direct result of ineffectual feasibility work; and

  • In any event, on a site-by-site basis, feasibility work can be incredibly laborious; so

  • A feasibility study across a portfolio of land and property assets can be expensive and relatively fruitless

The solution

We carry out a phased filtering exercise – which is a skilled and detailed, but ruthlessly efficient study of publicly-available network data – using a range of systems in order to rapidly deduce which sites do not offer a technically-feasible and commercially-viable connection opportunity.  After each filtering phase, you approve our recommended next steps for the remaining sites, only focusing time and effort on those schemes which will work for you.

Our approach gets our clients, as rapidly and cost-efficiently as possible, to the position of being able to submit grid connection applications on those sites – and on only those sites – which offer genuine potential for a scheme and which will work for that client on that site.
