20MW gas genset scheme in Hampshire

We are very pleased to have secured 20MW of viable capacity for a gas genset scheme. This case study highlights the importance of taking advice that is independent from a developer or technology.

Our client had a battery storage developer apply for a grid connection for 10MW of storage capacity on their behalf. Through our conversations with SSE, we identified that 10MW of battery storage would be unviable. However, we submitted an alternative application to SSE for the client for 20MW of export capacity for a gas genset scheme.

Our advice was proved right when the storage connection offer was financially unviable, whereas Roadnight Taylor’s 20MW genset connection offer was comfortably cost-viable. In addition, there was intermediate pressure gas already on site.

Technology:  Gas genset
